Frohe Ostern!

Frohe Ostern!

Happy Easter!  Christ is risen!  The season for penitential reflection and fasting is over.  On Friday, Jesus of Nazareth took all of our sins and iniquities upon Himself and endured the cross, suffering the full wrath of God on our behalf.  On Saturday, He fulfilled the Sabbath, resting from His work.  And today—the Lord’s Day—He emerged victorious from the grave, defeating sin, death, and the devil and granting us the right to be sons of God.  Let the alleluias ring forth again as we proclaim the ancient prophetic words, “I know that my Redeemer lives!”

March was an enjoyable and relaxing month before classes at the Lutherische Theologische Hochschule begin again in April.  With more sunny days and warmer weather, playground visits and nature walks have increased!  We explored Königstein and walked around the giant castle that sits upon the hill in the middle of the town (supposedly, the castle was initially built by King Chlodwig who lived from A.D. 466-511).  There was also some delicious gelato!  On one walk through the woods, we made a rare find:  a Blindschleiche.  Though, we aren’t quite sure what the difference is between a legless lizard and a snake.

We celebrates St. Patrick's day with a Sauerbrat (Corned beef) from a local butcher, carrots, potatoes and cabbage. This is a family tradition on Susan's side she has done since she was a little girl and we are thankful we were able to continue that tradition this year!

In the last week of March, Oma and Opa came to visit, and we had fun getting to show them Oberursel, which has become our home these past seven months.  We also visited the Frankfurt Zoo, seeing all the animals always brings a smile to everyone’s face.

With the summer semester starting in a couple weeks, we are looking forward to spending more time exploring and relishing our time together as a family.  We are also less than three months away from welcoming baby boy #4 into the world!
