Christus Mansionem Benedicat!

2024 went by in a flash of an eye and so much growth and beautiful memories were made. After getting back to the States it feels the fast pace of the USA has been a lot to adjust back too, as we mentioned in our Thanksgiving post.

The Winter Quarter at CTSFW is well on its way, and Eric is taking Church History II, Pentateuch I, Confessions III, Pastoral Counseling, and Theologia I (Baptism).  These courses focus on the history of the Church during the Reformation, an in-depth study of Genesis, the Formula of Concord with its history and theology, the pastoral care of souls, and an exploration of the scriptural foundation and understanding of Baptism.

During the Advent Season, Eric had the opportunity to preach during one of the Wednesday midweek services at Zion Lutheran Church, our fieldwork church in Decatur.  That experience provided valuable insight on how a pastor should prepare for the busy time leading up to celebrating the birth of our Lord.  We also enjoyed the Advent Candlelight Evening Prayer Service at Kramer Chapel at CTSFW.  It was a beautiful service with a delicious dinner to follow!  At the end of the Advent Season, we visited Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne for their Christmas Eve service.  It is special we are able to attend that service because that is the church Susan’s relatives attended when they were living in Fort Wayne.

The boys have enjoyed the winter weather in Fort Wayne. We were spoiled in 2022 and 2023 with white Christmas days, and so we were a little sad that it was a not another white Christmas.  but have loved the last few weeks being covered in snow. Our beach boys have definitely fallen in love with snow.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
